FAMILY HEALTH 2 Parents can visit HelpMeGrowKern.org to complete a screening online in English or Spanish. They can also call 211 Kern County to complete a screening by phone. A child’s mind grows quickly in the early years of life. But how do you know if they are on the right track? Areas of concern that are found and addressed in the early years can make a big difference as children reach school age. The American Academy of Pediatrics advises that children have at least three developmental screenings by the age of 3. Help Me Grow Kern County uses the Ages & Stages Questionnaire. This tool provides developmental screenings in a relaxed setting. The screenings are done by parents and focus on GET Bus offers KFHC members a new way to get to medical visits! Kern Family Health Care (KFHC) has teamed up with Golden Empire Transit (GET) to give our members more ways to get to their medical visits. This new service includes: y New clean vans. y Curb-to-curb pick-up and drop-off. y Wheelchair accessibility. y No cost to KFHC members. y Safe rides with trained GET drivers. y Rides within Bakersfield.
