Tools for those with Alzheimer’s Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. Memory problems are often one of the first warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Getting checked early can help you and your doctor set up a care plan. When you or a loved one are told that you have Alzheimer’s, you will need to have someone who is allowed to help. This person should be on file at your doctor’s office to help you fill out any form. Many times, family and friends want to help look after the person with Alzheimer’s, from making office visits, picking up prescriptions and making sure day-to-day actions are done safely.
