Bakers eld is no longer contracted
with Kern Family Health Care
(KFHC). We want to be clear that
this only applies to BFMC’s Urgent
Care. BFMC is still contracted
with KFHC to provide primary
and specialty care services to our
members.
What does this mean?

means that if you are assigned
to a primary care provider (PCP)
at BFMC or you see a specialist
at BFMC, you can still see that
New mental
health benefits
Kern Family Health Care (KFHC)
covers some mental health
and substance use disorder
services.
You will receive the following
substance use disorder
benefits through KFHC:
Alcohol misuse screening and
counseling for people 18 and up.
If you qualify, you will
receive the following mental
health services through KFHC:
Individual and group mental
health testing and treatment
(psychotherapy).
Psychological testing to
evaluate a mental health
condition.
Outpatient services that
include lab work, drugs and
supplies.
Outpatient services to
monitor drug therapy.
Psychiatric consultation.
By July 1, 2014, KFHC will
contract with Beacon Health
Strategies for the management
and administration of mental
health and substance use
disorder needs of KFHC
members. If you have any
questions, please call Beacon at

Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
